Curriculum Design
Help Our Children is a volunteer based nonprofit that assists grade school performance.  The volunteers provide tutorial support immediately after school from 3pm – 5pm, Monday thru Thursday.  Career professionals from the business community will be solicited to read out loud with students and provide mentoring support.  HOCS (Help Our Children Students) and parents/guardians participate in monthly field trips to local cultural events throughout the area to increase cultural exposure.  These activities are planned in an effort to  enhance the childrens’ life experience and also create a bonding experience for both the student and parent/guardian.

Additional details of the curriculum are being developed by actual teachers, post graduate teachers and retired teachers from the area.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increase student morale and improve positive attitude towards learning
  • Increase desire to work cooperatively in groups
